Early lease termination is possible but usually comes with a cost. You'd owe a **termination penalty** (often several thousand dollars, depending on how early you exit and lease terms), plus any mileage overage and wear-and-tear charges. Essentially, you're paying the lessor for the remaining value of the lease.

Some lessors offer **lease-end** or **gap** options that reduce these penalties, so it's worth reviewing your agreement upfront.

Better options: If your situation changes, talk to Castle CDJR of Chesterton about **lease transfers** (assuming someone new takes over your payments) or potentially trading up to a new lease at better terms.
