## What a title is and why it matters

A title is your legal proof of ownership. When you buy from Castle CDJR of Chesterton, we prepare the Indiana title and transfer it to you. If you finance, your lender holds the title until you pay off the loan; once paid, it's yours free and clear.

## Registration is your road pass

Registration (aka plates and registration sticker) is your state's permission to drive. It's separate from the title. Your state's motor vehicle agency issues it-requirements and deadlines vary by location.

## What Castle CDJR of Chesterton handles

We'll provide the signed title and all purchase documents you need to register. In Indiana, we guide you through the process. If you're out of state, we'll confirm what your state requires so you have everything.

## Your timeline

Complete insurance first. Bring your proof of insurance and our paperwork to your state's DMV (or use online services if available). Deadlines typically range from 10-30 days after purchase.
