Towing capacity is how much weight a vehicle can safely pull behind it. It's different from payload (what you carry in the bed or cabin).

**Key numbers to know:**
- **Towing capacity:** Maximum trailer weight (varies by engine, transmission, axle ratio)
- **Payload capacity:** Maximum bed/cabin load
- **GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating):** Total weight the vehicle can safely carry, including itself
- **Tongue weight:** Usually 10-15% of trailer weight, counted against towing capacity

**Why it matters:**
Overloading creates brake failure, sway, and danger. Never exceed your vehicle's rating.

**RAM and Jeep at Castle CDJR:**
RAM 1500, 2500, and 3500 trucks offer towing up to class-leading capacities depending on configuration. Jeep Grand Cherokee and Grand Wagoneer models handle moderate towing needs. Every spec differs.
